Using Nanlite/Nanlux lighting on a short film: Zavec, 13th round

  • Sašo Štih
  • Pavilion 10a

ROUND 13 is a poetic mix of biographically inspired fragmentary scenes from the difficult childhood and youth of a boy from a forgotten place, Dejan Zavec. He later becomes the World Boxing Champion which however does not represent the expected salvation and satisfaction. Through symbolic embodiment of Kurent, a mighty mythical creature, Dejan reaches the final battle outside the boxing ring, the Round 13, where he symbolically confronts his childhood fears. You can win in 12 rounds, but there will always be a round 13. Dejan Zavec personifies this message with his life journey. Each defeat and each victory represents only one step in the long battle of life. The ultimate goal is to overcome inner fears and obstacles, which gives us hope and strength to become the best version of ourselves.
